I was born and raised in Orange County, CA. Every male in my family has been a member of the Los Angeles Police Department. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Fullerton. I received a master’s degree from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and a law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, CA. In 1999, I became a special agent with the federal government. During my initial training, I met my wife, Therese Merchant, who was also a special agent.

In late 2015, our family moved from Orange County, CA to Maumee. After working for over 21 years as a federal agent, I retired in 2020. Therese and I are the proud parents of four children, two boys and two girls, ranging in age from 20 to 13. All four kids attended St. Joseph’s Maumee, and Central Catholic High School. I am currently an Assistant Prosecutor with the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office.
