I am a hairdresser/makeup artist at Embellir Salon. I have worked there for over 11 years! I honestly can’t imagine myself in any other career. I am married with 2 chihuahuas and an incredible stepdaughter, Molly. My husband owns a painting business and is extremely talented. As much as I love being around people I am equally a home body who enjoys relaxing, catching up on all my favorite reality shows, I know, I know but they are so addicting…and hanging outside! My parents gifted me a Kayak a few years ago, and it’s the thing I look forward to most as soon as weather permits!
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
Not only am I obsessed with expressing myself through hair and makeup I also love people! I love their story. Everyone has a journey and not always an easy one. I believe if you feel good about yourself, it shows that you are a happier, healthier version of yourself. I want to be the one to help others look and feel great about themselves from the inside out.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
My boss, Dawn Sandwisch! She has accomplished so much, she’s a great boss, has a good heart, is always there to motivate me and has helped me through some rough times throughout life. I really strive to be like her one day! Fun fact, my dad was leading a life group at Cedar Creek that my boss was in. She became his stylist and got me a job there as a receptionist when I was in high school.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Roatàn Island in Honduras! I visited there with my family when I was younger, and it was absolutely beautiful! I have never seen water so blue and clear!
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Life is short and full of choices! Your life can be whatever we want it to be, you just have to work for it. If you want life balance that takes work too!
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Opening a rescue for senior and disabled dogs and also attending Paris Fashion week.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Shaylyn Ford. She was a former employee at Embellir salon before I worked there. She went on to become Mrs. World 2021. She has no idea who I am but I really look up to her! She is such a Godly women, an amazing hairdresser/makeup artist, business owner, wife and mother and all around very empowering! I would meet at The Height’s because who doesn’t feel fancy there!?
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
We have so many outdoor activities here! We have great parks, bike paths, trails, water activities and I especially love kayaking here!
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My dad! I know it’s cliche, but he is very inspiring! He took a leap of faith when he quit his job to help start a church, Cedar Creek. He is faithful, intelligent, and kind and the list could go on and on. He has always sacrificed so much for others! There isn’t anything he can’t do, except set up a smart tv…
