I am a mother of 3 teenagers and married to my HS sweetheart of 21 years. We have lived in Perrysburg since our oldest was 3 years old and absolutely love our community. I am currently employed as an NP at a wonderful small private Pediatric office, Monclova Road Pediatrics, and thoroughly enjoy my job. I have been employed by MRP for almost 9 years and truly believe this is my passion in life. I love taking care of kids and the relationships I have formed with their families over the years is such a blessing. Watching them grow year after year. I have been here long enough that some of my older patients have married and had children who I now get to care for.
I absolutely love watching my children play sports, and have been a baseball/softball & basketball mom for many years. I love to read, exercise, get outdoors with my husband and our crazy dog, and spend time with family. When I have time I enjoy doing puzzles and baking.
I am the oldest of 4 siblings and all of my siblings have 3 children so I am blessed with 9 nieces and nephews under the age of 9. We all live close so getting to see them on a regular basis and care for 6 of them as my patients is so fun!

Q: What do you love most about what you do?
The bond I create with my families/patients. when I was a pediatric RN in the hospital, I loved what I did but now I find so much joy watching these children grow over the years

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Selfishly, somewhere warm as I don’t love the cold weather. Honestly, I want to travel to Europe or Australia. I have been out of the US but still have so many places I want to see and experience other cultures.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
It’s cliche but “live every day to the fullest”. Tragically, we lost my husband’s brother in law a few years ago from a fluke car accident and he left behind my sister-in-law and 3 small children. Living through that, I try to remember that life is short. Never take any day for granted.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
An Alaskan cruise-even though I said I hate the cold, I have heard from so many people that it truly is a vacation of a lifetime and I want to see that part of the country.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would want to take Carrie Underwood to lunch. I grew up watching her win American Idol back in the day and she is such an amazing person, I would love to know how she manages to do all the things she does-sing, create, travel, raise children and stay so fit! I would pick a local place in Perrysburg: Swig, Zingos, Stella’s. And make sure we get a seat outside during nice weather so we can enjoy the sunshine!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
One thing I love, having children who play basketball for Perrysburg, is Midnight Madness. The week of Thanksgiving the entire community comes together to kick off the basketball season by gathering at 11pm on that Tuesday and introduces the basketball teams from elementary-Jr Jackets-through varsity players. The varsity coach started this tradition over 15 years ago and it is something fun to look forward to. And it’s free-admission is a canned good.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Downtown Perrysburg during Farmers Market Thursdays. I love to support small town businesses and even with the teenagers at home, we enjoy family time down there together shopping and eating together.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My children and my husband. I have changed my vocation 3 times and my husband was my biggest champion when I was going back to grad school to get my NP certification. IT was not easy at all, but he was an amazing support and really kept the household together while I was in school. My children motivate me to be a better human and mom everyday. Caring for other children has made me realize how blessed I am to have healthy, strong and wonderful kids -for those hard days I have sometimes at work.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Love, Support, Faith
