Hi there! I am Roni Gilmore, owner of Spin & Splat Art Studio. Spin & Splat is an interactive, abstract art studio with the very popular neon splat room, large canvas spin tables and fluid bears. We have been in business for almost two years and have won a multitude of awards already; Best of Toledo ‘Sip & Paint’, Reader’s Choice ‘Best Place for Indoor Birthday Party’ and Family Favorites ‘Best Place for Indoor Birthday Party’ and ‘Best Place for Girls Night Out’. Having spent the majority of my career in various supply chain roles, being an entrepreneur has been the most amazing journey! I am mom to two adult children, Tanner and Kassidy, a brand new grandmother to Mira Elaine and dog mom to Sadie. While my family is my greatest gift, building this business from concept and beyond is my greatest accomplishment.
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
I absolutely love meeting people, sharing special occasions and encouraging people to be creative, lower their inhibitions, have a great time and make memories.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
What a question! I could no more choose a favorite child! What I can tell you is that having been blessed to be involved in so many small business groups that it is their origin story that moves me, stays with me and encourages me to stay on this path.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Greece & Italy is my dream trip. I had the most wonderful Latin teacher at SUA, Mrs. Carol Zavac. I always regretted choosing getting car over the trip to Italy & Greece with my class.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Just start! No one ever regrets trying something new, only failing to try at all.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Singing karaoke outside of the car!
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Jaime Stiriz Meyers has been my ‘behind the scenes’ mentor from encouraging me to recommending attorneys and accountants! If you are looking for a business owning role model you could do not better! This woman is a realtor, owns Stilla Salon & Boutique which has expanded twice and added a coffee shop and jewelry line in two years. We would lunch at the Heights because the views and lemon drop martini are my favorite.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Our community is blessed to have so many wonderful activities nearby; Toledo Art Museum, Imagination Station, Toledo Zoo, Toledo Public Library, Huntington Center, Toledo Metroparks there is always something fun to do!
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
The Old West End Festival is my favorite!
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My family. My parents owned their own successful business and I want to be role model to my children as well, that it is never to late to realize your dreams and take a chance.
