My name is Lauren and I was born in Bellefontaine Ohio and moved to Perrysburg when I was around two years old. Growing up I loved to swim, go camping and be outside…and I still do! I was on swim team until high school and after high school I went to Owen’s Community College for commercial arts and 3D design. I also took photography classes, drawing classes and anything art related. I was always drawing and painting, filling sketchbooks and canvases. My favorite thing to draw was female celebrities and I would love to draw in their makeup and eyes especially. That quickly turned into a love and passion for makeup. I then went to school for esthetics and fell in love with skincare as well. I now work at Soto Signature Salon & Spa and have been there for 8 1/2 years and it fulfills me so much! I also won Toledos Best Makeup Artist in 2020, 2022 & 2023 which I am very proud of!
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
I love making people feel beautiful and confident in their own skin! Seeing someone’s face light up after a makeover or facial is really rewarding to me.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Mrs. Bearfoot, she was my high school art teacher and I will never forget her kindness and passion every single day. She inspired me a lot!
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Well, there’s a lot. I want to go to so many places but currently Norway.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Try to turn any negative into a positive! I think positive thinking is key!
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would love to swim with dolphins.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
The first person that came to my mind was Celine Dion. My mom would always play her music growing up and I just think she is so amazing and strong. I would take her to The Village Idiot so we could get pizza and dance.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the 577 Foundation. I grew up going there and love all the beautiful plants and the greenhouse.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My mom 100%. She is the best person and has taught me so much.
